The King's African Rifles 1902-60

The King's African Rifles were the British Army's colonial troops in the British Empire's African colonies.
One of the interesting things about this unit was the fact that I worked with a man from Sudan back in the 1990s and he had mentioned that his grandfather had served in this regiment. His brother followed the family military history and became a paratrooper, trained by Gaddafi's Army in Libya.

The KAR was made up of African men from Nyasaland, Kenya, Uganda, British Somolia,

The KAR was equipped much along the lines of the British Indian army in the fact that their weapons and equipment were a generation behind the regular British Army. For the Burma campaign, the figures are modeld with Airfix Australian figures painted with dark skin.
