Osprey Publishing - The Boer Wars (2)

Osprey Publishing - The Boer Wars (2)

This volume which I picked up in South Korea of all places, disscusses the Imperial campaign against the Boer insurgents. It also covers the Canadian, as well as the Australian and New Zealand units sent to assist the mother country.

Osprey Publishing - The Australian Army at War 1899–1975

Osprey Publishing - The Australian Army at War 1899–1975

Australia's coming of age mirrors that of Canada. Of the conflicts Australia was involved in, it was only Vietnam, and Malaysia where Canada did not take part.

This is a good volume covering the Australian involvement in most 20th century conflicts.

Osprey Publishing - The British Army 1965–80

A good volume about the British Army in the mid period of the Cold War

Osprey Publishing - The Canadian Army at War

Osprey Publishing - The Canadian Army at War

This was the first volume Osprey put out about Canadian forces in warfare.

Osprey Publishing - Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders

Osprey Publishing - Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders

This was one of the first MAA Osprey published. Its a good read, current to the situation of the 1970s.

Rather sad that this regiment is now reduced to a single company. Not sure if they got to keep their pipeband. Maybe with Scottish Independence, they will be raised again?

Basic Up: Season 1, Episode 3, 3/3

This was an interesting series about the recruitment process into the Canadian Forces. Since 1968, all regular force members of the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Airforce are trained together.

The Ladies from Hell - The Black Watch- Royal Highland Regiment of Canad...

An excellent little documentary about Canada's Black Watch. My father did training alongside many of 2RCR members who had been one of the regular battalions of the Black Watch. Thanks to the fellow who posted this to youtube.
