So while there may be other Canadian coffee brands out there, I usually go to Tim Hortons. Now not a huge coffee and donut fan, I do have a soft spot for this chain.
You see, while I taught in Asia from 1996-2015, the only time I could go to Tim's was on my few times i came home.
Now while I was in Japan, Tim Hortons did open up in China. Not sire if they got into Korea but they didn't go into Japan.
Now of all places you could get a Tim's double double, was Kandahar Airfield.
I never got there, but Tim's went to Afghanistan. And many of our troops and our allies enjoyed Tim Hortons coffee.
I even heard when the American commander ordered that all other fast food spots close, he insisted that Tim's remained open.
I guess he got hooked on Boston Cream donuts and our Double doubles.
So I continue to get a coffee from them when I can as a thank you for theor service in providing a cup of coffee to those who went over.
